Ritz-Carlton Announces Plans to Build Resort in Aruba

NOW it's official! The government of Aruba and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company announced the development of the Ritz-Carlton Aruba resort. The resort will be built on Palm Beach adjacent to the Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino. With an expected opening in 2012, the resort will have 320 rooms, several restaurants, and two pools.

Windmill Farm Opens in Aruba

Perhaps taking something from its Dutch Heritage - and certainly capitalizing on it's continuous ocean breeze - Aruba has opened it's Vander Piet Windmill Park. The windmills are located on the Southeast Coast of Aruba and stand 180 meters high (about 540 feet). When fully operational the windmills are expected to generate about 18% of Aruba's demand for electricity.
